WATCH WHAT YOU DREAM... Ismail Barlov is European Champion

(Patria) - Ismail Barlov, para-swimming representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina, won a gold medal at the European Senior Championships being held in Portugal.

The thirteen-year-old representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina achieved a historic result tonight in Madeira in the 50-meter breaststroke event.

He reached the title of European champion in the final with a time of 1:01:15.

"Watch what you dream, it might come true one day, is a sentence we often hear and repeat during training, and tonight we all first thought of it when our brilliant Ismail Barlov reached the top of Europe. A dream of a boy, a team of people, a sports family came true... It is difficult to properly express all the pride and happiness at this moment. Ismail Barlov is on top of Europe, he has written the history of Bosnian sports and thank him for the moments of happiness he gave us," said Amel Kapo, selector of the para-swimming team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, from Portugal.

The popular Barla, with gold at the European Senior Championships, once again confirmed his top class and continuity of results, given that he also holds two A standards for the upcoming Paralympic Games in Paris this summer.

"Thank you to everyone who believed in me, who supported me, who were my strength all these years. Thank you to my parents, friends, teachers, relevant ministries, sponsors Iscos Emilia-Romagna, Otto per Mille Valdese, Motized, BH Telecom, Ministry of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton, City of Sarajevo, Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, Paralympic Committee of BiH, and I owe the greatest gratitude to my coaches and my Swimming Club SPID. I have achieved my dreams, but this is just the beginning. The best is yet to come," said Ismail Barlov from Portugal.

The European Championship is being held from April 21 to 27, and on Monday Ismail Barlov will also compete in the 150-meter medley event. Ismail Zulfić, who will compete in the 50-meter butterfly event, also defends the colors of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
