(Patria) - The second Super-G race of the Audi FIS Women's World Cup, scheduled for today, December 22, in St. Moritz, Switzerland, has been postponed due to thick fog covering the upper part of the course.
Despite the organizers' efforts and hopes that the competition would be held, this did not happen even after three delays of the start time. The race was supposed to start at 11:00 AM, but even after three half-hour postponements, the decision prevailed that the third Super-G of the season would not take place.
On this course, in ideal weather conditions, the Super-G competition was held yesterday, in which Cornelia Huetter celebrated victory, followed by the local Lara Gut-Behrami and Sofia Goggia, who represents Italy.
Bosnia and Herzegovina's best alpine skier Elvedina Muzaferija started bravely and aggressively yesterday in St. Moritz, but one mistake cost her an irrecoverable two-second deficit, ultimately placing her 37th.
Let us recall, the competition in speed disciplines began last weekend in the United States, where Muzaferija scored the first six points of this season with a 25th place in the downhill discipline in the first race.
For the downhill and Super-G disciplines, there is a competitive break until January 11 and 12, when the skiers return to the starting gates in St. Anton, Austria.
