In April 2022, the political movement "For New Generations" was founded, headed by Damir Marjanović. In April 2026, this political movement is in the process of dissolution.

Marjanović addressed the Central Election Commission of BiH, from which he requested guidance on how to dissolve a political entity.

And what happened with ZNG in the previous four years?

ZNG participated in the General Elections in 2022. They won one seat in the Assembly of Sarajevo Canton, which was Damir Marjanović himself. He also entered the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament. Zlatko Miletić was also in ZNG and was elected to the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament. However, Miletić resigned from the movement last year after an affair involving ZNG cadres broke out and has been an independent delegate ever since.

During the formation of the state government after the General Elections, Damir Marjanović also participated in negotiations with the parties of the "Trojka". He was also present at a meeting with Milorad Dodik at his estate in Bakinci.

The Government of Sarajevo Canton was formed in March 2023, and only a few months later, a reconstruction of the KS Government took place to remove ministers from the Party for BiH (Almir Bečarević, communal economy, and Emir Dedović, finance). Instead of the Party for BiH, which then had three representatives (Admela Hodžić and Elza Gaković had previously left SBiH), according to a prior agreement between Elmedin Konaković, head of NIP and Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, and Marjanović, ZNG became part of the government. Marjanović cashed in well for one of his votes. He received two ministers in the KS Government (higher education and finance), as well as a number of positions in public cantonal institutions and management structures. The new KS Government was appointed on November 15, 2023. Marjanović has been interested in the field of higher education for years, and during 2012 and 2013, he himself served as cantonal minister of education.

Representative Redžo Lemezan, who left Our Party, was also part of the agreement on the reconstruction of the KS Government, and they jointly appointed cadres in cantonal institutions. Lemezan officially joined SDP in November 2024.

At the time Konaković was negotiating with Marjanović about entering the KS Government, Marjanović had already been appointed director of the Institute for Anthropology in Zagreb for the period from September 1, 2023, to August 31, 2027. This is a state institution of the Republic of Croatia, and the Ministry of Science, Education, and Sports of the Republic of Croatia acts as the founder. The decision was made on July 14, 2023. Thus, Marjanović was simultaneously an official of the Republic of Croatia and a representative in the KS Assembly and a delegate in the House of Peoples of the Federal Parliament. However, this did not bother anyone.

Although there was some dissatisfaction among other partners in the "Trojka" because Marjanović received two important ministries, the KS Government still functioned.

However, the first turn of events occurred with the arrest of the Minister of Communal Economy, Bojan Bošnjak (Our Party), in November 2024, followed by investigations into cantonal ministers.

In April 2025, the Minister of Higher Education Adna Mesihović, her assistant Dženita Viteškić, and Ibrahim Obhođaš, all ZNG cadres, were arrested for abuse of office, favoritism, and illegal employment. Mesihović was also remanded in custody, and the ministry was managed by cadres from Our Party and NIP until the appointment of a new minister, Duška Bošković, in October 2025. ZNG cadres were assigned to Sarajevogas, the KS Employment Service, the KS Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Higher Education, and management and supervisory boards... Obhođaš was also a candidate for the director of the Agency for Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance of BiH, but that competition was annulled. He is still a member of the Management Board of the KS Employment Service, which was also subject to investigation and searches. The head of the Service is Amina Džonlagić, another ZNG cadre.

Incidentally, Mesihović managed to damage the relations between the KS Government and the University of Sarajevo, and together with the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs, she attempted to challenge the election of UNSA Rector Tarik Zaimović. The entire case ended up in court, and due to this situation, Kalamujić and Mesihović blocked the payment of salaries for 2,700 employees at the University of Sarajevo in December 2024... Although the salaries were released a few days later than for other budget users, this situation is unprecedented in the relationship between the KS Government and the University of Sarajevo.

Certain documentation was also seized from the KS Ministry of Finance during May 2025, and illegal employment of ZNG cadres is also suspected.

Disgraced Marjanović withdrew from the KS Assembly and the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament in July 2025, and ZNG appointed new coordinators.

The official website of ZNG has already been shut down, and the party's social media profiles are no longer available.

Mesihović was dismissed from her position as Minister of Higher Education in October 2025, and on the same day, she took the solemn oath and assumed her mandate as a representative in the KS Assembly. However, the KS Assembly website lists her as an independent representative.

Thus, Afan Kalamujić remained in the KS Government from ZNG, even though the party has no representatives in the KS Assembly. According to Patria's information, Kalamujić has not aligned himself with any faction within the "Trojka", but no one is mentioning his dismissal.

In February of this year, Kalamujić stated on N1 television that ZNG was dissolving and that Damir Marjanović would make a statement about everything. However, instead of making a statement, Marjanović contacted the CEC requesting guidance on how to dissolve a political entity.

Another scandal related to ZNG went almost unnoticed by the public. On the eve of the 2024 local elections, the Central Election Commission of BiH detected irregularities during the verification of ZNG's submitted signatures for the Novo Sarajevo Municipality level, and their candidacy was rejected. Marjanović then formed a coalition with Mirsad Hadžikadić's Platform for Progress, and the list "Progres za nove generacije" was certified in Novo Sarajevo, with Afan Kalamujić, the Minister of Finance, as the candidate for mayor from that coalition. This case, according to Patria's information, has been handed over to the competent judicial authorities. Patria received confirmation of this information in May 2025:

"The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, during the verification of the application for certification of the political entity Za nove generacije (code 03056) to participate in the 2024 Local Elections, determined that among others, for the Novo Sarajevo Electoral Unit, identical handwritten signatures of voters were found among the supporting signatures, clearly written by the same individuals, with the same handwriting.

In this regard, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in accordance with Article 6.8, paragraph (1) of the Election Law of BiH, submitted the application with accompanying documentation, act number: 05-1-07-5-1806-1/24 dated August 27, 2024, to the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton for competent proceedings," the CEC's response states.

Mesihović, Viteškić, and Obhođaš are accused in the "Koverta" case, and a final prosecutorial decision in the case of Afan Kalamujić is still pending.
