Osmani: Skopje will support the Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica

(Patria) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, stated that Skopje will support the Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica at the United Nations.

- North Macedonia will support the Resolution for declaring the events in Srebrenica as genocide. We have said this on several occasions, and I, personally as minister, have participated in all annual commemorations of the Srebrenica Genocide Day.

We must call things by their proper name if we want to learn from them and if we want them never to happen again - Osmani said at a press conference.

The head of Macedonian diplomacy assesses it as important to finally enter the process of reconciliation, to consolidate and stabilize the region, and to close all open issues.

- It is very important that Bosnia and Herzegovina received the decision to start negotiations with the European Union. I hope this will consolidate that country - Osmani said.

He also emphasizes that he expects a swift resolution of the relations between Kosovo and Serbia and mutual recognition, as this will contribute to closing another open file.
