Weakened Dragons Play Against the Dutch in Eindhoven Tonight

(Patria) - The BiH national football team plays the first match of the new UEFA Nations League A cycle tonight at the Philips Stadium in Eindhoven.

The opponent for Sergej Barbarez's squad is the home team, the Netherlands. The match broadcast can be followed from 8:35 PM on BHRT.

The Dragons will face the favored Netherlands without two regular national team players. After Sead Kolašinac was ruled out due to injury, Anel Ahmedhodžić also canceled his participation at the request of coach Barbarez.

Nevertheless, Barbarez is satisfied with the players' commitment in the recent preparations. The atmosphere among the Dragons is excellent, and everyone is motivated to show their best against the Netherlands.

Barbarez says they know tonight's opponent well, but they will certainly try to surprise them with some new ideas.

- We have an idea and a plan on how to counter them. We think 24 hours a day about what and how we will do it. Any word about the Dutch national team is superfluous.

I am a big fan of theirs, of their style of play, and their individual creativity. When they are not playing well as a team, they have such good players that any one of them can decide a match.

They can apply brutal pressure, it certainly won't be easy. However, I said that we did not come here to be anyone's sparring partners, we came to fight to deserve why we are here and to have the privilege of playing in the Nations League A.

I see all these matches as a package that will lead us to a better tomorrow, which I am convinced of - stated the coach of the BiH national team at yesterday's press conference.

The BiH footballers will be led by long-time captain Edin Džeko in this match as well. He says he is satisfied with the work of the BiH players in training and expects them to play well against the favorites.

He emphasizes that he is honored that coach Barbarez counts on him and says that he will give his best in this match too.

The main referee of tonight's match will be Donatas Rumšas from Lithuania, and his assistants will be Aleksandar Radiuš and Dovidas Sužiedelis. The fourth official is Robertas Valikonis, also from Lithuania.

Stuart Attwell and Neil Davies from England will be in the VAR room.

Our footballers will face Hungary in Budapest on September 10th.
