Weakened Dragons begin preparations for World Cup qualifiers

(Patria) - Preparations for the men's basketball national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the World Cup qualifying matches began with this evening's training session at the "Mirza Delibašić" hall.

Xavier Castaneda, Faruk Duvnjak, Adnan Arslanagić, Tarik Hrelja, Adin Vrabac, Amar Alibegović, Stefan Simanić, Nikola Marić, Emir Sulejmanović and Asim Gutić were available to selector Dario Gjergja during the first training session.

Due to injuries, Edin Atić and Amar Gegić did not train, while Ajdin Penava and Vojin Ilić will join the team later.

- We gathered today and had our first training session. We are aware that two tough matches await us, however, we will give our best, try to pick up new actions and everything the selector asks of us.

We are missing some important players, but we will try to cover all the shortcomings with maximum effort and deliver good performances - says Emir Sulejmanović.

The Dragons will also train in Sarajevo tomorrow, and on Wednesday they will travel to Istanbul, where on November 27 they face hosts Turkey in the first round of World Cup qualifiers.
