Continuation of the ZDK Youth Basketball League Secured

(Patria) - The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) has taken steps to ensure the continuation of the ZDK Youth Basketball League competition in Zenica, involving approximately 200 young athletes.

The Ministry has secured the use of the sports hall of the Catholic School Center (KŠC) in Zenica for playing the remaining matches until the end of the first half of the season, thus overcoming the problem caused by the lack of funds in the City of Zenica budget for the use of the City Arena "Husejin Smajlović" for youth sports competitions.

The initiative to resolve this issue was launched by the Deputy Speaker of the ZDK Assembly Goran Bulajić and the Assembly member Harun Čolić.

- After being informed of the situation, we reacted quickly in cooperation with the Ministry and KŠC to enable young athletes to continue the competition without interruption - stated Bulajić.

Assembly member Čolić expressed gratitude to the relevant Ministry and the ZDK Government for their support and understanding, emphasizing that this is an example of good cooperation between sports clubs, institutions, and educational facilities.

At a meeting of representatives of Zenica basketball clubs, it was previously agreed to send a request to the Ministry and the KŠC administration for the use of the hall, to which the KŠC administration responded positively, recognizing the importance of the continuity of youth sports activities.

Minister Mirza Mušija emphasized on this occasion that the Ministry continuously supports activities that contribute to the development of sports and the creation of conditions for working with young people.

- Our goal is to provide children and young people with the conditions to engage in sports and to jointly contribute to the development of the sports environment in the canton - emphasized Minister Mušija.

This decision allows the ZDK Youth League competition to continue without interruption, ensuring the continuity of sports activities for young basketball players from Zenica.
