(Patria) - The symposium discussed many aspects of the development of women's refereeing, improving quality, increasing the number of female referees in national associations, and finding an adequate model for recruiting and retaining female referees in the system.
Discussions covered an individual approach to female referees, particularly in the context of motherhood, as well as ways to support female referees during pregnancy and after childbirth.
Numerous experts from various areas of the international refereeing community participated in the symposium, and this experience was also special for Ivana Vlaić, who has been a UEFA referee observer for many years:
“Participating in the first UEFA Women’s Referee Symposium was an extremely useful and inspiring experience. Through lectures, discussions, and the exchange of experiences, we gained clear ideas and concrete guidelines on how to further raise refereeing standards. It was a great honor for me to be part of this important event and community that contributes to the development of women's football and refereeing at the European level.”
