WE ARE PUBLISHING AVDO AVDIĆ'S DIPLOMA Mentor Kurtić: Everything is as clear as day, Jurišić surprised me!

(Patria) - Brutal violence has been carried out against investigative journalist Avdo Avdić in recent days, and the peak of political attacks on this journalist occurred this morning when Duška Jurišić, Deputy Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of BiH, asked enigmatically on N1's program how Avdo Avdić obtained his diploma.

“This profession is very devalued. Now, ask colleague Avdo Avdić how he got his diploma,” Jurišić said.

And we asked. Not only Avdić, but also his mentor Najil Kurtić, a retired professor at the University of Tuzla, and one of the most cited communication experts in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Avdić provided us with his diploma for review and publication, while Professor Kurtić emphasized that Avdić's diploma is as clear as day.

“I remember his work very well. He wrote a paper on the topic of inter-Bosniak conflicts in Sandžak, I can't quote it exactly. The paper at the time consisted of two parts. The first part was a news story, then all the facts and all the material on which the story was written, a theoretical part, and a synopsis for the story. As part of that work, he would submit a CD with a segment that was supposed to be up to 20 minutes long. Thanks to his journalistic experience, as he wrote investigative pieces for Oslobođenje and 60 minuta, he created a truly professional segment that could have been broadcast on any television at the time,” says Kurtić.

He adds that he can say that Avdić's work was certainly among the top three ranked works for which Kurtić was a mentor and which were defended in the Journalism department in Tuzla.

“If anyone wants to look at his work and verify my story, they can do so without any problems. We stored those works in the faculty library. They are there, you go and ask. So can Duška Jurišić. She surprised me greatly. I even think she taught a program for his generation organized by Media Centar Bore Kontić. Duška knows Avdo, and now these political showdowns make no sense,” Kurtić stated.

Professor Kurtić did not hide his great disappointment with Duška Jurišić's statement.

“I am surprised that she attacks Avdić in that way, without any facts. To ask such a question. Let me answer. Avdo Avdić graduated as clear as day. His diploma, grades, everything is in order. I wouldn't say he was a golden student, but he was a good student, working at the same time, I wish all my students were like that. Duška got burned. Everything is available and everything can be reconstructed. We must ensure that facts are important in the story again,” added Kurtić.

We also asked Avdić for a comment, and he points out that the stories are unfounded and sends a message to Duška Jurišić.

“Since Duška Jurišić is a lawyer, and I am not, I invite her to a public competition on TV cameras to test our knowledge of legal sciences and BiH constitutional and legal regulations. Her friends can also prepare the questions. Only then will we see what she learned about law during her studies,” said Avdić.

We remind you that Jurišić is not the only one from the BiH Council of Ministers participating in the harassment of Avdić, as Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković has been doing so for longer and more brutally. Given that the European Convention on Human Rights is above the BiH Constitution, and that these attacks violate Avdo Avdić's human rights and attack the media community, we call on the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto, to request the dismissal of Konaković and Jurišić.
