Nurkić has a message for fans: Because of them we feel like we're playing at home, we believe in our quality

(Patria) - Ahead of tonight's training session of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national basketball team, Jusuf Nurkić addressed the media in Cyprus.

He emphasized that the atmosphere among the players is excellent and that they are aware they will have to work hard for every victory.

"The atmosphere is really good and work-oriented. I'm using every moment to hang out and get to know each other better," Nurkić began and added:

"No one will gift us or hand us a victory. Cyprus is the host, and the hall will certainly be full, with those small details on their side. We certainly believe in our quality and we have to be good and bring a victory here."

The Bosnia and Herzegovina national basketball team plays its first match against the Cyprus selection tomorrow, August 28, at 5:15 PM.

Nurkić also spoke about the support of the fans.

"As in Cologne, some matches, thanks to our fans, felt like we were playing on home turf. That is additional motivation. We know what our goal is; regardless of the audience, we have that sense of relief, given that we arrived in Cyprus burdened by injuries, but the goal is the same - advancing to the second round. One match at a time, and only that way can we reach the goal," Nurkić emphasized.

Nurkić also sent a message to the fans, both those who will come to the hall to cheer on our national team and those who will follow them via broadcast.

"The message is simple. We will give our best, and I think promising anything else is foolish. We are here to give our all; the players have been eagerly awaiting this moment. I believe in my teammates and I am deeply convinced that we will play well, look good as a national team, and encourage each other regardless of whether we are losing or leading. We are here to achieve a result," Nurkić concluded.

He was also cautious in his expectations for tomorrow's match, emphasizing that they respect the Cyprus team.

"We have nothing to lose. We came to play and we will give our best," Juka said.
