Football Association confirms: Haris Tabaković to join national team preparations, Arjan Malić receives call-up

(Patria) - The Bosnia and Herzegovina "A" national team will soon gather and begin preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2026, and the coaching staff is simultaneously working on defining the final squad for the trip to North America, it was announced today by the Football Association of BiH.

"Today, encouraging news arrived from Munich regarding the health status of national team player Haris Tabaković. According to information received by the coaching staff from his club's medical team, the injury Tabaković sustained in the last match is not serious.

Nevertheless, due to the short period before the start of the World Cup, the situation will be monitored with special caution in the coming days.

Tabaković will join the national team preparations and remains in the squad until the last moment, given his importance to the team that qualified for the World Cup," they stated.

Concurrently, the coaching staff has decided to issue a late call-up to Arjan Malić, a young national team player who was part of the qualification cycle from the beginning and who, with his attitude towards the national team, quality, and professionalism, has earned a place among those traveling for preparations.

"There is a possibility that Tabaković will recover and be ready for the second part of the group stage of the competition, which could also affect Malić's final playing time in the tournament. However, all circumstances have been openly and fairly communicated with the players, and Malić has once again shown great commitment to the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

He will join the preparations from the first day and be available to the coaching staff, while the "A" national team's coaching staff, led by head coach Sergej Barbarez, continues preparatory activities before departing for the biggest football competition in the world," the Association states.
