Night of comebacks: Goal fest in Turin, Real defeated Marseille, Benfica lost to Qarabağ

(Patria) - Four more matches of the first round of the new Champions League edition have been played.

Real Madrid defeated French side Marseille 2:1 after a comeback at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.

The visitors took the lead first in the match officiated by BiH referee Irfan Peljto. After winning the ball in midfield, a counter-attack followed, and Timothy Weah scored in the 22nd minute.

After Kondogbia's foul on Rodrygo in the penalty area, Peljto awarded a penalty for Real, and Mbappé converted from the spot for 1:1 in the 28th minute.

Dani Carvajal then made a mistake and headbutted Marseille's goalkeeper Rulli, after which Peljto showed him a red card in the 72nd minute.

Even with a man down, the royal club was more dangerous, and the BiH referee awarded another penalty for the Madrilenians due to Medina's handball in the penalty area.

Juventus saved themselves from defeat against Borussia Dortmund at home with two goals in added time (Vlahović and Kelly were the scorers), and a great match in Turin ended with a 4:4 score.

Tottenham secured a minimal 1:0 victory over Spanish side Villarreal at home, thanks to an own goal by Luiz Junior.
