(Patria) - Mother Nature reminded us once again of her immeasurable power last week. Heavy rainfall in parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina caused floods, landslides, and immense destruction, and also claimed the greatest toll of all – human lives. To support the sincere efforts of rescue services trying to clear up the consequences of the destruction, NLB Group members are donating one million euros to the affected areas. The donation will be directed towards humanitarian organizations, the Red Cross, and Pomozi.ba to ensure that aid reaches those who need it most.
All banks from the markets where NLB Group operates, namely Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Kosovo, have contributed to the donation, with certain member banks also organizing their own local support.
"In Slovenia, the memories of the floods that ravaged large areas of our country in August last year are still vivid. The scenes coming from the region that is our home, where so many of our friends and colleagues from our banks live, are particularly painful. However, in this disaster, we can once again show how, when the days are darkest, we stand by each other, proving that human will, heart, and solidarity are stronger than the indestructible force of nature," said the President of NLB Group, Blaž Brodnjak, announcing the Group's donation.
"It is a pleasure to be part of a Group that stands by the community in which it lives and works, especially in times of crisis like these. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the floods, we empathize and extend our deepest condolences to all the families of those who perished in this natural disaster," added Lidija Žigić, President of the Management Board of NLB Banka d.d., Sarajevo.
"This is a way to show our solidarity and genuine care for the market in which we operate. At the same time, I express my gratitude to NLB Group, which once again demonstrates unity, solidarity, and responsibility towards our citizens. We wish the citizens who have been struck by this unfortunate circumstance a speedy recovery, and we have no doubt that the strong solidarity of society will help them in this," said Goran Babić, President of the Management Board of NLB Banka Banja Luka.
Through such activities, NLB Group proves that it is not just a bank, but one of the key, systemic builders of society and economy in its home region, and a Group that, in addition to potential, recognizes challenges and provides support when needed, thus leaving a better mark.
NLB Banka Sarajevo invites all its clients, individuals and legal entities, who have been affected by this disaster in any way, to contact the free phone number 0800 22 427 or email [email protected] to get more information about the specific measures the Bank has taken to mitigate the consequences.
Some of the measures include the possibility of deferring payment obligations and free account management, and the Bank will individually agree on appropriate solutions that are most suitable for the client with each client.
