Germany are European basketball champions

(Patria) - Germany's basketball players have won the gold medal at Eurobasket after defeating Turkey 88:83 in a dramatic final finish.

Although Turkey held the lead for most of the game, led by the brilliant Alperen Şengün and Cedi Osman, the current world champions turned it around in the final minutes. Dennis Schröder played a key role, hitting crucial points and free throws in the closing moments.

Isaac Bonga also shone with four successful three-pointers without a miss, while Osman was the most effective for Turkey with six three-pointers. Germany thus continues its dominance in major competitions, following last year's world championship title.
