Germany Donates Five Military Trucks to Kosovo Security Forces

(Patria) - The Kosovo Security Forces yesterday received a donation of five multifunctional "RheinMetall" military trucks from Germany, valued at 2.7 million euros.

The handover ceremony of the vehicles at the "Adem Jashari" barracks was attended by the Minister of Defense of Kosovo, Ejup Maqedonci, the Commander of the Kosovo Security Forces, Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari, and the German Ambassador, Jorn Rohde.

Maqedonci emphasized on this occasion that the German donation of military trucks will contribute to increasing the logistical and operational capacities of the Kosovo Security Forces.

- The Federal Republic of Germany, our strategic partner, has played an exceptional role in the growth and development of our army. We are very grateful, and the 2.7 million euros we received today are a continuation of the donations totaling 3.8 million euros we received from Germany last year - Maqedonci stated yesterday.

He points out that the support for the Kosovo Security Forces in the form of military vehicles is only one of the areas where Germany has contributed significantly to the defense and security of Kosovo.

Ambassador Rohde expressed his satisfaction at attending the handover of five trucks to the Kosovo Security Forces, which now possess a total of 15 such trucks. He stated that this project began in November 2022.

- I want to reiterate the excellent relations between Germany and Kosovo. Our cooperation is becoming closer and closer, especially in the field of security, and this is done through our officials, such as military attachés - Rohde added.

The German Ambassador, along with Minister Maqedonci, presented the keys for each of the five military trucks.

In mid-March, Kosovo's Prime Minister Albin Kurti, during a visit to the aforementioned barracks, stated that ten "RheinMetall" trucks of German production were purchased from the Kosovo budget, while the other five are a donation from Germany.
