Dutch Easily Overcome Romanians in Round of 16

(Patria) - The Netherlands national team qualified for the quarter-finals of the European Championship currently being held in Germany this evening.

The Dutch easily dealt with the Romanians in the round of 16 at the "Allianz Arena" in Munich, defeating them with a convincing 3:0 score.

The wait for a change in the score lasted until the 20th minute, when Cody Gakpo scored his third goal of the Euros and the first for the Dutch today.

The same player scored again in the 63rd minute, but VAR disallowed his goal due to offside.

The Romanians remained in contention until the 83rd minute, when Donyell Malen extended the lead for the Netherlands to 2:0. The same player sealed the fate of the Romanians after a quick counter-attack in the third minute of stoppage time.

The Dutch will play the winner of the match between Austria and Turkey, which is scheduled for 9 PM tonight, in the quarter-finals.
