(Patria) - Bosnia and Herzegovina U21 representative Nidal Čelik (18) has passed medical examinations and will soon sign for Lens.
German Sky Sport reports that the transfer has been finalized, and that the now former Sarajevo player will sign a contract until 2029.
Sky Sport writes that Sarajevo will receive 2.5 million euros for the young centre-back.
This is also the biggest transfer in the history of the Premier League of BiH. Previously, the record transfer of the Premier League was Gojko Cimirot's move in 2015 from Sarajevo to PAOK for 1.6 million euros.
Čelik's new club is currently in sixth place in the French Ligue 1 with 33 points.
Otherwise, Čelik played 19 matches for Sarajevo this season and assisted twice. Since November of this year, he wore the captain's armband for the "bordo" team.
He passed through all youth selections of BiH, for which he played a total of 38 matches and scored one goal.
The coach of the BiH senior national team, Sergej Barbarez, called him up for the Nations League matches in November against Germany and the Netherlands, but he has not yet debuted for the Dragons.
