Incredible result in the French league: Eight goals were scored, all against the visiting team

(Patria) - An incredible first half was played last night by Nice and Saint Etienne at the opening of the fifth round of the French Ligue 1.

More precisely, Nice played it. The home team led by as much as 6-0 after the first 45 minutes, writes Index.hr.

Such a result angered the fans of Saint Etienne, who returned to the top tier of French football, so they left the stadium after only 39 minutes.

The match ended with a 8-0 victory for Nice.

The hosts took the lead in the fourth minute with an own goal by Dylan Batubinsika.

Tanguy Ndombele increased the lead to 2-0 in the seventh minute, and Mohamed-Ali Cho and Youssoufa Moukoko scored in the 24th and 26th minutes.

Saint Etienne coach Olivier Dall'Oglio tried to shake up his team by making three substitutions in the 35th minute, but that didn't help them either.

Before the end of the first half, Evann Guessand and Moukoko, with his second goal, put Nice up 6-0.

In the second half, Sofiane Diop and Pablo Rosario set the final score.

However, such a halftime score is not a record in the French championship, as Lyon led 7-0 against Marseille after the first half in 1997, eventually winning 8-0.

This is a difficult start to the returning season in Ligue 1 for Saint Etienne, a club with 10 championship titles, making it the second most successful in French history.
