(Patria) - In the Bosnia and Herzegovina derby within the tenth round of the WWIN League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo defeated the Velež team at "Koševo".
After a rather nervous first half-hour and two red cards, Sarajevo scored four goals against Velež.
The match started quite calmly on both sides, with slightly more initiative from Sarajevo.
Despite the calm start, in the 20th minute, after a foul on Mlinarić and VAR intervention, Mirza Kazlagić showed a red card to Kyeremeh, leaving Sarajevo with one player less for the remainder of the match.
Velež's numerical advantage over Sarajevo lasted only seven minutes. After a foul on Soldo, Oreču was also shown a red card after VAR intervention.
In the 32nd minute, Sarajevo took the lead from their first serious chance of the match. Guliashvili passed down the wing and crossed to Turkeš, who scored from five meters to give the "Bordo team" a 1-0 lead.
Just four minutes later, Sarajevo doubled their lead. Đorđević crossed from a free kick on the left side, and Jović was the highest in the air and headed the ball in for a 2-0 lead.
Towards the end of the first half, we saw a more active Velež, but they failed to seriously threaten Sarajevo's goal, except for one instance where the "Rođeni" players scored a goal that was disallowed due to an offside position, so the "Bordo team" went into halftime with the lead.
The second half began with an excellent chance for Velež after a free kick in the 47th minute, but Mlinarić's shot went directly to the Sarajevo goalkeeper after a well-worked play.
Despite Velež players entering the second half more aggressively, Guliashvili scored a beautiful goal in the 53rd minute, putting Sarajevo ahead 3-0, which effectively sealed the victory.
Zoran Zekić then made several substitutions to refresh the team and rest the players who had exerted the most effort up to that point.
Velež's game almost completely "fell apart" after the third conceded goal. Irfan Buz also tried to bring some freshness with substitutions, but there was a lack of significant ideas, creativity, and chances from Velež.
Lulić put the icing on the cake with his first goal in a Sarajevo jersey in the 89th minute, after a solo run by Guliashvili.
Sarajevo calmly saw out the match, securing their sixth victory of the season and, with additional draws, temporarily taking second place in the standings. Velež remained with nine points, which is definitely far from all expectations at the Mostar club.
In the 11th round, Sarajevo will play away against Igman, while Velež will host Posušje.
Two more matches of the tenth round are scheduled for tomorrow. From 3:00 PM, Radnik and Sloga Meridian will face each other, while from 7:45 PM, Borac and Željezničar will play another derby of this round. The tenth round concludes on Monday at 6:00 PM with the match between Zrinjski and Igman.
WWIN League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, tenth round:
Sarajevo 4:0 Velež (Turkeš 32′, Jović 36′, Guliashvili 53′, Lulić 89′)
