Man attacked women on Split's Riva, police arrested him

(Patria) - Split police arrested a man who caused an incident on the Riva on Saturday morning, where he physically attacked two women on a cafe terrace, one of whom was injured.

He was arrested and taken to the police station for criminal investigation shortly after the incident, which shocked everyone who was on the city promenade this morning.

As it is known, two women were sitting 'on the terrace', and behind them at another table was a man who, allegedly, was listening to their conversation, after which he started banging and throwing bottles at the women. Some witnesses saw him lunge at the women with his fists, as well as throw bottles at them. Visitors on the cafe terrace and citizens who happened to be there rushed to the aid of the attacked women.

The attacker fled, and several citizens ran after him, but he was faster and escaped them. Fortunately, one of the citizens recognized him and told the police his identity, so the violent man was soon arrested.

The women sought medical attention at the Split Clinical Hospital Centre, and according to eyewitnesses, one of them had a bloody injury after the attack.
