After Albania's victory in Leskovac, celebrations in Pristina lasted deep into the night

(Patria) - The Albanian national football team achieved a great away victory against Serbia with a score of 0:1 in a 2026 World Cup qualifier match. The scorer of the only goal was Rey Manaj, who found the net in the second minute of stoppage time in the first half.

With this triumph, Albania increased its lead over Serbia to four points in Group L of the European qualifiers, taking an important step towards qualifying for the World Cup.

Celebrations in Pristina and Tirana

The victory sparked massive celebrations across Albania, as well as in Kosovo. Numerous fans took to the streets of Pristina, the capital of Kosovo, to celebrate their national team's success. In Tirana and other Albanian cities, spontaneous gatherings of fans were also organized, accompanied by songs and flags.

Kosovo, which remains a key point of tension in relations between Serbia and Albania, was also present in the stands of the stadium in Leskovac, where home fans chanted "Kosovo, Serbia," emphasizing their view of the territorial affiliation of that area.

Incident during celebrations

According to information from the portal Veriu, at Zahir Pajaziti Square in Pristina, police detained one person who, after Albania's goal, fired a firearm in celebration. Although there were no injuries, the incident caused concern among citizens.

Kosovo and Albanian media report that after the match, a large number of people took to the streets of Pristina, where celebrations lasted until late at night. Despite the minor incident, the celebration was mostly peaceful, with an increased police presence.
