Best BiH marathon runner Emir Hastor sent off to Paris, to compete in 10K race of Olympic Marathon on August 10th

(Patria) - The best BiH marathon runner, Emir Hastor from Goražde, traveled to Paris today, where on August 10th he will participate in the 10K race within "Marathon for all" as part of the Olympic Marathon in Paris.

His fellow citizens organized a send-off for the most successful athlete from Goražde at the plateau of the "Mirsad Hurić" City Hall, proud that the city on the Drina has its representative at the most important and largest gathering of athletes in the world for the first time.

With self-belief and form honed during preparations for the most important event of his career, the Olympic 10K in Paris, Hastor is ready and very optimistic awaiting the start of the race.

"I am physically and mentally fully prepared and giving my hundred percent. In a few hours, I am heading to Paris where I will run a ten-kilometer race on Saturday as part of the Olympic Games. It is a great honor and pleasure for me to represent, first and foremost, my club, my city, BPK, and BiH, and to be among the approximately 20,000 runners who will be with me in the starting zone. I must say that I am in the first starting block thanks to my results, so at the start, I will have a clear path, so to speak, and I won't have to avoid slower runners, which will surely lead to a good result," explained Hastor.

He says he is happy that his dream has come true. The positive nervousness is there, which, according to him, will disappear as soon as he sets foot in the city on the Seine.

"For competitions like the 10-kilometer race as part of the Paris 2024 Olympics, a lot of sweat is required, but nothing is impossible because if you have faith in yourself, many opportunities open up for you. I tell all athletes and young people to believe in themselves, to dream, and to have their goals. Work, order, and discipline will lead you where you belong. I started from the city stadium in Goražde nine years ago, and in two days, I will be at the Olympic Games in Paris," said the best BiH marathon runner.

Hastor has once again achieved the qualifying standard for this year's Berlin Marathon, which will be held on September 29th.
