At the Paris Olympics, an equal number of female and male athletes for the first time

(Patria) - The Montenegrin Olympic Committee (COK) announced that the Paris Olympic Games will be the first in which an equal number of female and male athletes will compete.

Since the beginning of the 20th century, the number of female athletes participating has been on the rise.

It all started with the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, when women made up 40 percent, up to Paris, when that number will be equal for the first time.

"Olympism is equality. Olympic values unite, and are the foundation for equal opportunities for all.

We proudly emphasize that the Paris Games will be historic in terms of gender equality.

For the first time, there will be an equal number of female and male athletes at the Olympic Games," stated the COK.
