Muzaferija: I am satisfied, starting the season with points for the first time

(Patria) - The first downhill race of the new FIS World Cup season for women was held today, December 14, in Beaver Creek, USA, and the only BiH competitor Elvedina Muzaferija took 25th place and for the first time at the start of a season recorded six World Cup points.

The best Bosnian-Herzegovinian alpine skier completed the 2,369-meter-long course in 1:34:61. The winner of the downhill, Cornelia Huetter, was two seconds and 23 hundredths faster than Muzaferija and Norway's Marta Monsen, who shared a position with the skier from Visoko.

“This is the first time I am opening the season by winning points. I know I can do better, but this course is very difficult and I can be satisfied for a start. Tomorrow is the Super-G race, which I can definitely start with less pressure than today. We started with points, which is a good sign for now,” emphasized Muzaferija after the race in Beaver Creek.

Sofia Goggia finished the race in second place, while Lara Gut-Behrami was third.

The world's fastest skiers will continue the competition tomorrow, Sunday, December 15, when they will compete in the Super-G race, starting at 7:00 PM Central European Time.
