Muzaferija ahead of first downhill race: I worked hard and am more prepared than ever

(Patria) - Bosnia and Herzegovina's best alpine skier Elvedina Muzaferija opens the new FIS World Cup season tonight with a downhill race in Beaver Creek, USA.

The only BH representative arrived in Colorado from Canada, where she completed final preparations ahead of a season featuring a large number of competitions.

“I worked hard, I feel the most prepared so far, and I couldn't wait for the season to start. Unlike other competitors, I know the Beaver Creek course the least, but I want to master it with the best possible time. I hope I will succeed,” says Muzaferija.

The BH skier will start tonight's race among forty-five competitors under number twenty-nine.

“This will be a long and interesting season, but our focus shifts from race to race. Today we are completely focused on the downhill race, which is held on one of the most demanding World Cup courses, and after that we quickly turn to the Super-G race, which you can follow tomorrow,” Muzaferija states.

The first weekend of speed disciplines, downhill on Saturday and Super-G on Sunday, will be held at 19:00 CET, i.e. 11:00 local time, with a live broadcast on Eurosport.

Let us recall, the twenty-five-year-old from Visoko, a member of the Ski Club "ZE-2010", last season won the first gold medal for Bosnia and Herzegovina at the FIS Europa Cup, then a high fourth place in the FIS World Cup, and for the first time led her country to the World Cup finals.
