Muzaferija ready for performance on her favourite track in Crans-Montana

(Patria) - The best female skiers in the world in speed disciplines have gathered this week in Crans-Montana, where they will compete in downhill and Super-G races of the FIS World Cup on Friday and Saturday.

Fifty competitors took part in the first official training session, while the second training run, which was scheduled for today, was postponed due to heavy snowfall during the night.

Bosnia and Herzegovina's top alpine skier Elvedina Muzaferija recorded the 22nd fastest time in the held training session, once again showing that Crans-Montana is one of her favourite ski destinations.

In February 2024, on that track she achieved a historic result by finishing fourth and earning fifty points, which took her to the FIS World Cup finals in the 2023/2024 season.

The upcoming races are also the final preparation for the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games, which will be held from 6 to 22 February.

- I always feel very good on skis in Crans-Montana, and it is indeed my favourite track in the FIS World Cup. Today we couldn't ski, but with yesterday's training the technical conditions for the competition were met, which is the most important thing.

That training was also adapted to the weather conditions, but I am satisfied with the test run, which showed that I can achieve good results here - says Muzaferija.

The downhill race is scheduled for tomorrow at 10:00 AM, while the Super-G is on Saturday at 11:00 AM.

Interestingly, Federica Brignone is returning to speed disciplines in this competition after a serious injury, and fans of alpine skiing and speed disciplines will also be able to follow the men's downhill, which will be held on Sunday, also in Crans-Montana.
