Muzaferija 37th in Super-G in Val d'Isere

(Patria) - Italian skier Sofia Goggia achieved another victory today in the Super-G discipline at the Audi FIS World Cup, held in Val d'Isere.

Alice Robinson took second place, while Lindsey Vonn was third.

Goggia reached her third podium of the season with an excellent run and a time of 1:20.24, which was 15 hundredths faster than Robinson, and 36 hundredths faster than the experienced Vonn.

Elvedina Muzaferija, the best Bosnian-Herzegovinian alpine skier, finished today's race in 37th place, thus remaining with a total of seven points in the FIS World Cup, which she won last weekend in St. Moritz.

- Today the track was very difficult, with a lot of wind and very warm weather, so it was hard to gain speed. It would have been very good if the conditions were a little different and if I had managed to maintain my skiing from the second sector, but it's only the second weekend of competition and I am sure there will be many more good results this season - said Muzaferija, who was two seconds and 76 hundredths slower than today's winner.

Yesterday, downhill races were also held in Val d'Isère, where Cornelia Huetter won, while Muzaferija finished in 40th position.

The fastest skiers in the world, including the twenty-six-year-old Elvedina, will now have a holiday break, and the fourth downhill of the season and the third Super-G will be held on January 10th and 11th in Austria, on the Zauchensee ski resort track.
