KS MUP: Increased traffic and public order and peace controls during May Day holidays

(Patria) - The Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) of Sarajevo Canton (KS) issued a statement today regarding the celebration of May 1, International Workers' Day.

The MUP warns that increased traffic is expected on all major routes, especially towards picnic areas and tourist destinations, which increases the risk of traffic accidents.

Therefore, they especially appeal to all road users to be extra careful and patient.

In order to preserve public order and peace, as well as protect the lives, health, and property of citizens, the KS MUP appeals to all citizens to respect legal regulations.

They draw special attention to the following:

‣ It is forbidden to light fires in open spaces in places not intended and equipped for it. Uncontrolled fires can lead to fires with serious consequences for people and the environment;

‣ Driving under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances poses a direct threat to the safety of all road users and is punishable by law. We call on drivers not to drive a motor vehicle if they have consumed any amount of alcohol;

‣ Respect traffic regulations and adjust your speed to road conditions, especially considering the increased number of vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists during the holidays;

‣ Special caution is recommended for drivers of motorcycles, mopeds, and quad bikes, as well as other road users, with mandatory use of protective equipment and compliance with all regulations;

‣ Respect public order and peace, and avoid behavior that could endanger others or disrupt community safety.

Police officers of the Police Administration of the KS MUP will be conducting increased traffic and public order and peace controls during the holidays, with the aim of preventing and sanctioning all forms of illegal behavior.

"We call on citizens for cooperation and mutual respect, so that together we can contribute to the celebration of the holidays in a safe environment," the KS MUP stated.
