Muharemović for Patria: Our winning mentality is returning, we will fight in America

(Patria) - The players of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team are entering the final phase of preparations for a major competition with great optimism, following results that have restored faith in the fans and raised public expectations.

Victories against Wales and Italy, teams against whom the Dragons were considered underdogs before the matches, have brought additional confidence to the squad, but also showed that this generation has the quality to compete with the strongest.

One of the players expected to contribute significantly in the defensive line is Tarik Muharemović, a BiH international who emphasizes that nothing is left to chance.

Opponents in the group stage are already subject to detailed analysis, especially their forwards who could pose the greatest threat to the Dragons' goal.

- We immediately started analyzing when we knew we were going to the World Cup. We know David, who plays for Canada, I've played against him and we know what kind of striker he is.

We also know about the Switzerland player who plays for Nottingham. They are good, agile strikers - Muharemović told the Patria News Agency (NAP).

He notes that all details are being analyzed, but that ultimately what happens on the field will decide.

- Everything is known, everything is analyzed, but in the end, the field is what matters and how you perform there. We know that David is a player who moves a lot, runs a lot, and always wants the ball. I wouldn't go into too much detail, but we need to be ready for him - said the BiH defender.

After victories against Wales and Italy, fan expectations have risen. Muharemović says this is additional motivation, but also confirmation that the BiH national team is regaining its winning mentality.

- It's nice that fans, and we ourselves, can expect more after victories against Wales and Italy. As a player, it's very nice for me because you can see what we've achieved. The Bosnian national team is returning, our winning mentality is returning - emphasizes Muharemović.

However, he stresses that the team must remain calm and take it step by step.

- We have to go slowly, first a friendly match, to show ourselves and get into rhythm together. Then we go to prove ourselves in America, God willing. We are all positive, we all want the same thing, and that's why we will fight - concluded Muharemović in an interview with NAP.
