(Patria) - Former Manchester City player Bernardo Silva is the new Real Madrid player, the Spanish club announced today.
Silva (31) signed a two-year contract with Real Madrid, joining on a free transfer after his contract with the Blues from Manchester expired.
The Portuguese attacking midfielder joined City in 2017 from Monaco, and since then has played a total of 460 matches, scoring 76 goals and providing 77 assists for the English club.
With City, he won a total of 19 trophies - six in the Premier League, five in the English League Cup, three each in the FA Cup and Community Shield, and one each in the Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
As a Manchester player, he was selected in the Premier League Team of the Year for the 2018/19 and 2021/22 seasons, as well as the Champions League Team of the Season for 2022/23.
For the Portugal national team, he has played a total of 109 matches, placing him seventh on the all-time appearance list for that country's selection.
Silva's new coach at Real Madrid will be his compatriot Jose Mourinho.
