(Patria) - Young midfielder Emin Kujović (21), who plays for the second team of German club Cologne, has decided to change his sporting nationality and represent the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
After the change, Kujović received a call-up from the coach of the Bosnia and Herzegovina U-21 national team, Branislav Krunić, for the upcoming matches against the Netherlands and Slovenia.
FIFA confirmed on its official website that Kujović has obtained Bosnian sporting nationality instead of his previous Montenegrin one, which allows him to be immediately available to the Bosnia and Herzegovina U-21 team for qualifying matches.
Kujović was born in Cologne, and according to Transfermarkt's estimate, he is currently valued at 125,000 euros.
Due to his parents' origins, he could choose between Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Montenegro. Although he initially decided on the country of his birth, our association ultimately managed to persuade him to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the future.
"My father is from Bijelo Polje, my mother from Doboj, and there were offers, but I chose the call from Montenegro, where I came every year and have relatives in my father's city, Podgorica and Bar, which I also choose for my seaside holidays," Kujović said earlier.
This season, Kujović has played nine matches for Cologne's second team and scored three goals.
