Miralem Pjanić says goodbye to the BiH national football team

(Patria) - Miralem Pjanić (34) has said goodbye to the national football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"After 16 years for my Bosnia and Herzegovina, the moment has come to say it's over. This is certainly one of the hardest decisions I have had to make, but with immense pride and true satisfaction I say - enough.

I played 115 matches, experienced so much joy, going to the World Cup - it was all a dream I had as a small child and which became a reality.

I have always worn the jersey of my country with love and pride, played for my people, for our loyal fans around the world.

Thank you to all the coaches, medical staff, and equipment managers who were our support on this journey. Thank you to the Bh. Fanaticos for believing in me and helping me achieve my dream and play for the country I love.



The greatest thanks go to my parents and my entire family - you were my strength and support through everything.

In every club I played for, I was a proud Bosnian, always striving to be a role model for our children, hoping they too would one day step into the biggest clubs in the world. I wish the national team all the best in the future.

Sergej, master, I wish you all the best, you were my role model. You led us to heights, I hope you will lead us again on the path to success. I love you my Bosnia", Pjanić wrote on Instagram.

Pjanić debuted for the Dragons in the national team under Ćiro Blažević in 2008 in a match against Bulgaria.

He played 115 matches for the BiH national team and scored 17 goals.
