Miralem Pjanić new player of CSKA Moscow

(Patria) - Former Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team player Miralem Pjanić has officially become a new player of Russian top-flight club CSKA Moscow.

"Ready for a new adventure with the same love for football. I am excited to join my new team," Pjanić wrote on his official Instagram profile alongside photos from the contract signing.

Earlier, the club confirmed that an agreement had been reached with Pjanić to sign a contract on a 1+1 year basis, and Mire will wear the number 15 jersey at CSKA.

In an interview for the club's official website, Pjanić said he is very happy to have signed a contract with his new club.

- CSKA is a big club with a long history, which will always fight for the top spot in the league. A club with enormous potential and legendary players like Igor Akinfeev.

I am glad to have joined this team. This is exactly the challenge I needed. The past few years have been interesting.

I had the opportunity to play in the Asian Champions League and win titles, but I want to return to the European stage, to a very competitive league where stadiums attract large crowds. I am really happy to be here - said Pjanić.

He revealed that his move to CSKA was preceded by a conversation with Elvir Rahimić, a former Bosnia and Herzegovina national team player who also played for CSKA.

- (Rahimić) He is a good friend of mine. A few days ago we had a long conversation about the club. He spent many great years here, winning trophies, so he gave me excellent advice and told me many good things about CSKA.

I am glad to have come to such a big Russian club, which has achieved success on the European stage as well, for example in the UEFA Cup, which Rahimić won when I was 15 years old. I can't wait for the first matches - added Pjanić.

Pjanić started his career at French club Metz, then played for Lyon, Roma, Juventus, Barcelona, Beşiktaş and Sharjah. He also played 115 matches in the jersey of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.
