Serbian Ministry of Defence: MiGs Scrambled Due to Unknown Aircraft

(Patria) - The Ministry of Defence announced that Serbian Armed Forces (VS) radars detected an "unknown aircraft" over Valjevo in western Serbia on the morning of March 30, which, as stated, disappeared from radar screens after fighter jets MiG-29 were dispatched to intercept it, reports RSE.

The statement said that during the guidance of the duty pair of aircraft to the interception zone, "the target was lost from the radar screens."

It was added that the fighters returned to their home base after searching the zone, while other forces continued with regular monitoring and observation of the airspace.

According to the Ministry of Defence statement, the unknown aircraft was detected at an altitude of 5,500 meters.
