(Patria) - The French national team celebrated a minimal victory over Austria tonight in Dusseldorf in the first round of Group D of the European Championship being held in Germany.

The only goal scored at the "Düsseldorf Arena" stadium was actually an own goal by Maximilian Wober in the 38th minute.
There were no changes to the score by the end of the match, although both sides had several good opportunities.
In the first match of Group D, the Netherlands defeated Poland 2-1 after a comeback.
