(Patria) - Borussia Dortmund tonight defeated Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) 1-0 in the first semi-final match of the Champions League at their stadium.
The winning goal for the home team was scored by Niclas Fullkrug in the 36th minute of the match.
Borussia and PSG played a great match at Signal Iduna Park, with plenty of chances, and it's truly a miracle that the spectators saw only one goal.
The Parisians' slow and uninventive play in the first half cost them the loss, and Borussia deservedly came away with the victory.
The German team started the match better and more dangerously, and in the 13th minute, PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma made an excellent save on a close-range attempt by Marcel Sabitzer.
Then nothing happened for about twenty minutes, until the end of the half belonged entirely to the German team.
In the 36th minute, the hosts took the lead. Fullkrug received an excellent pass from Schlotterbeck in the penalty area and went clear on goal. He shot powerfully and low into the right corner and scored.
Borussia could have increased their lead in the 44th minute, but Donnarumma again saved Sabitzer's close-range shot.
In the second half, the French champions significantly increased the tempo of their play in search of an equalizer. In the 51st minute, PSG was unlucky as they hit the post twice in the same attack.
First, Mbappe hit the opposite post from the left side, and in the continuation of the action, Hakimi hit the other, right post from about ten meters.

Five minutes later, Fabian Ruiz met a cross from Marquinhos completely unmarked and headed the ball, but it went wide of the right post.
The match became very open on both sides, so in the 60th minute, Fullkrug ended an excellent run and pass from Sancho with a shot over the goal.
The Borussia striker also headed over the goal from close range in the 66th minute, and in the 80th minute, Dembele missed the chance of the match.
Hakimi advanced on the right side and found Dembele with a cut-back pass, who sent the ball over the goal from about ten meters.
Ruiz again wasted PSG's last chance four minutes before the end with a weak header.
The second leg will be played on Tuesday at the Parc des Princes.
