Mesud Pezer is the only athlete from BiH to compete at the Paris Olympic Games

(Patria) - Shot putter Mesud Pezer will be the only BiH athlete at the upcoming Paris Olympic Games, to be held from July 26 to August 11.

Pezer did not manage to meet the set Olympic standard of 21.5 meters by the end of June, but considering he is currently ranked 19th out of the top 32 shot putters on the world ranking list, he has qualified for the 33rd Olympic Games.

Thus, as expected, he will compete at the Olympics for the third consecutive time this summer.

In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2016, with a throw of 19.55 meters, he finished the competition in the qualifications and in 24th place, while in Tokyo in 2020, he took 11th place in the final with a throw of 20.08 meters.

Previously, in the qualifications, he threw an excellent 21.33 meters and met the standard for qualifying for the final (the standard for the final at that time was 21.20 meters).

On Saturday, Pezer confidently won the BiH national championship title in Zenica with a throw of 20.93 meters.

Two weeks ago, with his longest outdoor throw of the season at 21.04 meters, he also won the 15th International Meeting in Zenica.

Pezer has already departed for preparations in Vlašić, where he will prepare for his participation in Paris.
