Džeko's left-foot masterclass keeps Fener breathing down Galata's neck

(Patria) - Fenerbahçe defeated Adana Demirspor 4-2 tonight in the 31st round of the Turkish Super Lig.

Fener took the lead in the 17th minute with a goal from Djiku, before Mario Balotelli leveled the score eight minutes later.

Early in the second half, specifically in the 51st minute, Fenerbahçe regained the lead with a masterful left-foot goal by Bosnian international Edin Džeko.

It was Džeko's 19th goal of the season in the Turkish championship, putting him back at the top of the scoring charts, with Mauro Icardi trailing by one goal.

Dušan Tadić made it 3-1, and Yusuf Barasi reduced the deficit to 3-2 about ten minutes before the end. However, Serdar Dursun put the finishing touch on Fener's new victory in the 85th minute of the match.

With tonight's win, Fenerbahçe reduced the gap to leaders Galatasaray to just 2 points - Galata has 84, Fener 82.
