Magoda hosted the BiH basketball team ahead of their departure for the European Championship

(Patria) - Ahead of the big challenge awaiting them at Eurobasket, our Dragons felt the strength of support today. The BiH basketball team and the professional staff led by coach Adis Bećiragić were hosted by the Minister of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton, Kenan Magoda.

"Today I had the honor of hosting our basketball representatives before their departure for the European Championship. Such euphoria for Eurobasket has not been felt in the air for a long time, and for good reason. Coach Bećiragić has assembled incredible guys who truly love Bosnia and Herzegovina and are ready to give their heart on the court," said Minister Magoda, not hiding his emotions.

The Minister spoke particularly about his personal connection to basketball and sports in general.

"Given that I have been in sports my whole life, and basketball is my true love, I am extremely pleased to have been in the company of greats like Bećiragić, Abaz, and Firić today, whose games I watched with admiration and enjoyment as a child. Today, they lead a new, young, and brave team that is restoring faith and pride in our basketball.

The future of our basketball is bright, and we can all be proud that we have such a promising national team that commands respect from many.

The Ministry of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton proudly supported the departure of our golden boys so that they would have the best conditions to show what they know and can do," said Minister Magoda.

Coach Bećiragić thanked the minister for the reception and words of support, emphasizing how much it means to the players to feel that the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Government of Sarajevo Canton, and the entire country, stand behind them.

The final test before the start of the championship will be held this Saturday in the "Mirza Delibašić" hall, where our Dragons will measure forces with the Belgian national team. It will be an opportunity for fans to greet their heroes in full strength – precisely the team that will open Eurobasket on August 28 in Cyprus with a match against the host of Group C.
