Leverkusen finishes season undefeated, Köln and Darmstadt relegated to Zweite Liga

(Patria) - The Bundesliga season has concluded, marked by Bayer Leverkusen's absolute dominance.

The new German champions finished the competitive year undefeated, with 28 wins and six draws, reports Faktor.

Leverkusen defeated Augsburg 2-1 today in the final round in front of their home crowd.

Bosnian national team player Ermedin Demirović played for the visiting team until the 91st minute, but did not manage to score. However, this season has been his most successful in terms of goals.

Demirović scored 15 times, making him the sixth-best scorer in the Bundesliga. He also set up nine goals for his teammates.

Köln, whose colors are defended by Bosnian national team player Denis Huseinbašić, said goodbye to the Bundesliga today. Köln suffered a heavy defeat away against Heidenheim (4-1).

Huseinbašić did not play due to yellow cards. Köln, along with Darmstadt, will play in the Zweite Liga next season, while Bochum will play in the relegation play-off for staying in the elite.

Hoffenheim and Bayern played a great match. The Bavarians had a 2-0 lead, but Hoffenheim ultimately won 4-2, with a hat-trick from Kramarić.

Stuttgart took advantage of the Bavarians' loss and took second place in the table with a 4-0 victory against Gladbach.

Leipzig finished in fourth place, and fifth-placed Borussia Dortmund also secured direct qualification for the Champions League.

Sixth-placed Frankfurt secured a spot in the Europa League qualifiers, and Hoffenheim, from seventh place, will seek their chance in the Conference League.
