(Patria) - Bosnia's top cyclist Lejla Njemčević finished this year's World Cup season in the marathon discipline in a high fourth place in the overall standings.
In the last World Cup race in Spain, she took fifth place, thus confirming her position among the four best cyclists in the world. During the season, she also achieved a series of top results, with her best being second place at the World Cup in Italy and fourth place in Andorra.
Njemčević has already won the overall World Cup standings twice in her career, and last year she finished as runner-up. This year's result, although without a new victory in the overall standings, confirms her consistency at the very top of the world.
„I am satisfied that I finished the season in fourth place in the overall World Cup standings, especially because this year we had to overcome numerous challenges and health issues. Every race was a battle not only against the competition but also against the circumstances, and that is precisely why this result has additional value for me,“ said Lejla Njemčević.
With this result, Lejla once again confirmed her status as one of the world's leading marathon cyclists, and before the end of the season, she has one more appearance expected, which will conclude the 2025 competitive year.
