(Patria) - The best BiH cyclist Lejla Njemčević secured a convincing victory at the World Cup in marathon discipline held in Megève, France.
After 6 hours and 40 minutes of racing, Njemčević achieved her greatest victory in her career on the most difficult World Cup track to date. American Otto Rae Hannah finished second with a delay of 13 minutes and 33 seconds, while Vera Looser took third place with a delay of 16 minutes and 32 seconds. With this victory, our competitor earned 250 UCI points and took the leader's jersey of the World Series.
The last World Cup, which will also decide the overall winner of the World Series, will be held at the end of September at Lake Placid, which has hosted the Olympic Games in the United States of America on two occasions.
"I am happy to have won first place on the most difficult World Cup track to date with 5,000 meters of elevation gain. It is a special motivation that I will start the next World Cup with the leader's jersey of the World Series, and I am glad that I represented our country in the best possible way," said Lejla Njemčević after the race.
The next race for our competitor is the Balkan Championship in Blidinje, which will also be the final preparation before the European Championship held in Denmark in mid-August.
