(Patria) - Bosnia's best swimmer Lana Pudar will not compete at the upcoming World Championship, and she announced the reasons for this decision via social media.
"Despite my great desire to compete at my fourth consecutive World Championship, this time I am unfortunately forced to cancel my appearance in Singapore for health reasons. On the second day after arriving at the final preparatory camp in Turkey, I ended up in the hospital on an IV and was prescribed antibiotic therapy.
Since I have been unable to train normally and prepare for the championship for the second week now, my team and I concluded that under these circumstances it makes no sense to go to this World Championship just to record an appearance and further risk my health condition, when I cannot be in my best form.
It was truly very difficult for me to make this decision, because I had been preparing for this championship for a very long time and very hard, but I believe this is the only correct decision at this moment.
Now I will focus on a full recovery, so that I can be as ready as possible for my departure to the United States of America, where I will start training in the second half of August," reads Lana Pudar's post.
