Lana Pudar named best athlete by the Olympic Committee of BiH

(Patria) - The best BiH swimmer Lana Pudar has been named the best athlete of 2024 by the Olympic Committee of BiH. She was also the best female athlete, while Nedžad Husić (taekwondo) was named the best male athlete in the senior competition.

Tea Kovačević (tennis) was chosen as the best young female athlete in the junior category, and Benjamin Husić (taekwondo) as the best young male athlete, writes Federalna.ba.

The most successful sports club is the Water Sports Club Orka - Mostar, the most successful national team is the BiH men's senior basketball team, and the most successful coach is Damir Đedović (swimming).

Special awards from the Olympic Committee of BiH for the promotion of sport and Olympic values were given to Tomislav Cvitanušić (triathlon and pentathlon) and Muhamed Bikić (journalist), sports worker, for long-term contribution to the development of sport to Đurđica Šišul (athletics) and Mirsad Tinjić (gymnastics), promoters of sport in Bosnia and Herzegovina Ismail Barlov (paralympic swimming) and the BiH national sitting volleyball team.

Anes Bostandžić (karate), Emina Sipović (karate), Marina Kurteš (karate), and the BiH moto team - motorcycle racing were declared the best athletes or teams from non-Olympic sports.

Special awards for outstanding sports achievements were given to Aleksandra Samardžić (judo), Ada Avdagić (taekwondo), the BiH Muay Thai team 2024 (Thai boxing), and Muhamed Đonko (taekwondo).

Awards for supporting the work of the Olympic Committee of BiH were given to OC BiH sponsors Coca Cola, Lutrija BiH, BH Telecom, and Number 1.

Awards for media promotion of Olympic values were given to Aleksandar Babić (journalist) and Velid Spaho (journalist), for successful long-term coaching work to Denis Muhović (karate), while the prestigious title of ambassador of sport was awarded to Edin Džeko (football).

The thirteenth annual event "Athlete of the Year Election" organized by the Olympic Committee of BiH was held in a ceremonial atmosphere in the multimedia hall of the Olympic Committee of BiH.

For the first time, the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina was the special patron - Chairperson Željka Cvijanović and members Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović.
