WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS BiH basketball team plays against Turkey tonight

(Patria) - The BiH basketball team starts its World Cup qualifiers tonight.

New coach Dario Gjergja debuts on the Dragons' bench, facing a very difficult task right away, given that the BiH team is visiting the European vice-champions, the Turkish national team, in Istanbul.

In tonight's match, Gjergja has at his disposal: Xaviera Castaneda, Faruk Duvnjak, Adnan Arslanagić, Tarik Hreljo, Adin Vrabac, Amar Alibegović, Stefan Simanić, Nikola Marić, Emir Sulejmanović, Ajdin Penava, and Vojin Ilić.

"What we are currently trying to do is focus on ourselves, to prepare and understand each other as best as possible because the team is new, many new players, and the coach is also new. We have to think more about ourselves than about the opponent. You can certainly expect us to fight and give our best," said Adin Vrabac, a basketball player with the most appearances for the BiH national team and one of the most experienced in the current national team roster.

The match Turkey - BiH at the Turkcell Arena starts at 7 PM Central European Time.

Some basketball players did not get permission from their clubs for the national team gathering, while some are boycotting the national team due to the leadership of the BiH Basketball Federation.
