Crisis at Grbavica: After Milošević, Director Slato Also Announced Departure

(Patria) - Savo Milošević has left the bench of Željezničar. The main reason cited for his departure is the uncertain future of the club from Grbavica.

The decision of the former coach of Bosnia and Herzegovina has caused many reactions. The director of Željezničar, Haris Slato, also commented on the matter.

He did not hide his disappointment over Milošević's departure. However, he stated that he understands his move.

According to him, the club could not guarantee the conditions for continuing the cooperation at this moment.

Slato emphasized that he and Sanin Mirvić had long discussions with Milošević. He stressed that Željezničar was not in a position to fulfill what might have been agreed upon.

I am very disappointed by this decision of coach Savo Milošević, but both Mr. Mirvić and I fully understand him, with whom we had a long discussion last night. Simply, we were not in a position to provide the coach with the conditions to continue working at our club, because we could not guarantee that we would fulfill what we agreed upon.

The director of the Blues then addressed one of the club's biggest problems. According to him, the issue of the statute continues to burden Željezničar.

Slato emphasized that he particularly regrets Milošević's departure because of this.

The problem that burdens our club is the statute, which has not yet been resolved. For this reason, I express great regret that our coach is leaving, although we had serious plans for him to stay here, work, and help us in the development of the club. The coach came at, as he himself said, the most delicate moment for our club.

Gratitude to Milošević and his professional staff

Slato thanked Milošević and his associates. He particularly highlighted the period when the professional staff took over the team.

According to him, it was one of the most difficult moments in the history of Željezničar. Despite everything, the team managed to make a step forward in terms of results.

Željezničar moved out of the danger zone and secured survival.

I think this was one of the most difficult periods in the history of Željezničar. Therefore, many thanks to the coach, to you, Nenad, and Branko for coming and managing to lift us to a higher level, achieve victories, score goals, and finally secure survival, so that our club would not be in the danger zone. In the past three months, we have done everything in our power, both administratively and organizationally, to unblock the processes that were initiated.

Slato added that the amount of effort invested particularly affects him. He spoke about the economic and sporting progress of the club.

He also recalled the recent visit to Hrasnica. There, they discussed the possible development of the sports segment and the academy.

However, Slato stated that much of it is now in question. He particularly referred to the strategic partnership project.

According to him, this project is on the verge of collapse. Therefore, he decided to offer his mandate at disposal.

However, now all of that is in question. I am particularly sad because I know how much effort we have invested in all these segments in the last two months, and now I must say that the entire strategic partnership project has been brought to the very brink of collapse. Therefore, from today, I am putting my mandate at disposal, along with coach Savo Milošević. My future will be decided in the next day or two, together with other members and governing bodies of the club, after which we will provide more information – Slato told the official website of FK Željezničar.

Željezničar thus enters an extremely uncertain period. After Milošević's departure, the question of the club director's future is also open.
