Basketball Lilies beat Greeks in Cyprus with a fantastic performance!

(Patria) - The basketball team of Bosnia and Herzegovina recorded a perhaps slightly unexpected, but well-deserved victory against Greece in the 4th round of EuroBasket today.



The basketball lilies achieved an important triumph in the "Spyros Kyprianou" hall in Limassol, Cyprus, in the fight for the knockout stage of the continental championship.

The final score was 80:77 (19:25, 25:13, 17:14, 19:25).

Adis Bećiragić's team did not start the match well, losing the first quarter 19:25, and then trailing by 13 points in the second (21:34).



This was followed by fantastic play from our basketball players, who went on an incredible 18:0 run to take a 39:34 lead.



We went into halftime with a six-point lead (44:38).

We started the third quarter strongly against an opponent weakened by the absence of their best player - Giannis Antetokounmpo did not get a chance to play today.



We also won this period 17:14 and entered the fourth quarter with a score of 61:52.

We mostly maintained a double-digit lead, which only started to shrink in the last few minutes of the game.



The Greeks managed to significantly reduce the deficit (74:69), but Jusuf Nurkić broke their run.

In the end, there wasn't too much drama, and we celebrated with an 80:77 victory.



The most effective players for our team were Jusuf Nurkić and John Roberson with 18 points each, while Edin Atić added 15.

The basketball lilies will play their last group stage match against the Georgians, and that game is scheduled for the day after tomorrow in Riga, starting at 2:00 PM.



Any kind of victory is necessary for us to qualify for the knockout stage.
