(Patria) - The funeral prayer for Halid Bešlić will be held on Monday after the afternoon prayer at 1:30 PM in front of the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque in Sarajevo, it was confirmed for Faktor.
After the funeral prayer, burial will take place at the city cemetery "Bare", at 2:30 PM.
The funeral prayer will be preceded by a commemoration at the National Theatre in Sarajevo, which is scheduled for 11:00 AM.
The legend of Bosnian folk music left us today at the age of 72, after a short and severe illness.
Halid Bešlić was born on November 20, 1953, in Vrapci near Knežina. He began his career in 1979, and during more than four decades, he released 16 albums and held countless concerts around the world.
His greatest hits, such as "Miljacka", "Romanija", "Ja bez tebe ne mogu da živim"... became symbols of Bosnian and Herzegovinian folk music.
During the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bešlić held more than 500 charity concerts in Europe, providing support to people affected by the conflict.
His death caused great sadness among colleagues and friends, as well as among "ordinary" citizens who, they say, saw him as "one of their own".
Halid will be remembered as an exceptional musician and a man with a big heart.
