Colleagues and RTV BPK staff bid farewell to the late colleague Lejla Beganović

(Patria) - With a memorial service in the Small Hall of the Cultural Center, the staff of RTV BPK Goražde bid farewell to their long-time colleague, journalist Lejla Beganović, who passed away suddenly at the age of 44.
Her death deeply shook not only her family and colleagues, but also the numerous listeners of Radio Goražde, whom she informed daily by producing programs and shows that directly concerned their lives, writes Klix.

"This is the greatest pain for the family, but also for all of us who collaborated with her, we also carry great pain due to her premature departure. Her voice hovered over the banks of the Drina and I believe it will remain so because we should remember our Lejla for the good things, and in that way she will continue to live," said Hasan Gabela, a member of the Steering Board of the BH Journalists Association.

For RTV BPK Goražde, this is a heavy loss, stated Naida Sijerčić, the media director, expressing her condolences to the family and colleagues.

"It is difficult to accept the fact that Lejla is no longer with us. Thank you for every moment you gave us, you will always be in our hearts and in our thoughts and will accompany us throughout our lives as a cheerful person with a wonderful voice. We believe you are now in a better place and proudly watching us," said Sijerčić.

Journalist with a beautiful voice

The death of the young journalist deeply shook all her colleagues, who today also highlighted the challenges of the profession they practice.

"She diligently and conscientiously performed every task assigned to her. She was in the service of the collective, the community, every individual. A top journalist. An even better person. The recognizable, refined, phonetic voice of Radio Goražde. The Drina rivers will flow and flow, until, and if, such an angelic soul appears on the radio again. She could have given more, searched more for the meaning of life, and she left too soon," said journalist Benun Šapčanin.



"It is hardest to be a journalist, especially a female journalist, in small towns like this. Neither guilty nor innocent, yet always both guilty and innocent. Few people reflect on these challenges in these times, and we experience them through daily tests. Lejla experienced them too. She was an exceptional journalistic potential, from the first day she stepped into the Radio premises, eager for knowledge, learning, curious, quiet, but a brilliant person with a beautiful voice and an excellent host of live programs, and a good person above all, full of understanding and sensitivity towards those she addressed publicly," they stated during the final farewell.

They say that listeners loved her and that hundreds of messages of support sent to her family, colleagues, and all those who sympathize in these moments remind them of that.

"We owe it to Lejla to be dignified on this day, for the Radio to continue playing, even today, her favorite songs. Thank you for sharing with us the moments in which we bid farewell to our colleague. May her soul rest in peace and may the Bosnian land be light upon her," her colleagues said at the memorial service.

Journalist Lejla Beganović, née Šivšić, was born on January 30, 1981, in Goražde. She earned her degree in journalism from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo and worked at RTV BPK Goražde from 2006, holding positions from journalist, reporter to editor-in-chief and director of RTV BPK Goražde. She served as a member of the company's bodies on several occasions.

She was buried at the Kolijevke city cemetery.
