What a night for the Diamond: Džeko's hat-trick in Champions League qualifiers

(Patria) - BiH national team player Edin Džeko once again showed that age is just a number for him and that he is the "boss" at Fenerbahçe.

Tonight, with 38 years on his back, the Diamond completed a hat-trick in the first match of the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League against Swiss side Lugano, writes Faktor.ba.

In this way, he secured an important victory for his team ahead of the second leg in Istanbul. The final score was Lugano 3 - Fenerbahçe 4.

The hosts took the lead in the 4th minute with a goal from El Wafi.

Džeko's show began in the 45th minute when he equalized from the penalty spot to make it 1-1, which was also the halftime score.

As soon as the second half started, in the 26th second, Džeko scored to take the lead. Tadić provided the assist.

Bislimi equalized to make it 2-2 in the 64th minute, and three minutes later, the Diamond scored his third goal for a 2-3 lead.

Kadioglu scored for 2-4 in the 74th minute, and Valenzuela set the final score at 3-4 in the 94th minute.

The Dragons' captain left the field in the 80th minute to ovations from the stands.

Rade Krunić, another BiH national team player from the Turkish vice-champion, played the entire match for Fener.

The second leg will be played in seven days in Istanbul.
